Anger management

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, that is designed to protect us from harm. However, while it’s perfectly normal to feel angry when you’ve been mistreated or wronged, anger becomes a problem when you express it in a way that harms yourself or others.

Chronic anger that flares up frequently or spirals out of control can negatively impact your physical health, mental health, workalike, and personal relationships.

How can our sessions help?

We begin by demystifying the neuroscience behind anger, how it is linked to stress and anxiety, and what is happening in the brain when you experience anger. This helps to give you more understanding and control over your thoughts, emotions and in turn your behaviours. We then work through various solution focused exercises and techniques to support you to shift focus towards the strengths and resources you have to draw on to make positive changes in your life. Finally, where appropriate, we can introduce meditative techniques to lower your general level of anxiety and equip you with anger-management toolkit that works for you to practice a greater sense of control over how you respond to triggers beyond the session.
