Although every client is different, typically most clients begin to see progress after just one or two sessions.
In our sessions together, we take a solution focused approach. This means that we focus on what you bring to the table: your strengths, resources, skills and creativity, are the best tools you have to get yourself where you want to go. Our sessions will help you to clarify and build on these tools, so that you can use them to move forward in a way that best suits you.
Our first session is an initial consultation and assessment, where we explore what you would like to achieve, and discuss any questions or concerns you have.
In subsequent sessions we build towards a positive mind-set through exploring in detail your hopes, strengths and resources. We also introduce clinical hypnotherapy to support you in drawing strength from your whole mind towards achieving your goals.
Each session lasts an hour. The number of sessions you need is guided by you. Some clients need as few as 3 or 4 sessions to get to where they want to be, however 8 to 12 sessions are often necessary to achieve real, long-lasting change. Each session we check in with how you feel you are progressing, so that you don’t pay for one more session than you need. Please read my Fees page for further details. Our sessions will combine elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis to help you manage anxiety and stress effectively to improve your overall quality of life. The techniques we use help you to build your understanding of what’s going on in your mind that is making you feel anxious or stressed. The exercises we practice help you to shift your focus so that you can build your confidence and belief in your capacity to make positive change. Hypnosis (trance) helps you to relax and achieve a calmer mindset, and give your mind space to process the positive work you do in session.
Late evening clinic
Busy lives with work and school make it difficult to get to daytime appointments. Many clients prefer to stay within the comfort and familiarity of their own home. Following client feedback, I have increased the number of late evening online appointments I offer, so that you can enjoy your session before bed, from the comfort of your own home, without interruptions and without taking time off work.
